Strategy 5: Frayer Model

The Frayer Model is a specific type of graphic organizer which utilizes a four-quadrant grid to lists characteristics, non-characteristics, examples, and non-examples of a word or concept. Visual representations are very helpful for struggling readers/writers, and specific examples give students a model for comparison. Following is an example of a Frayer Model for a math concept:
